Children Go Where I Send Thee is a traditional African-American spiritual, also known over the years as The Holy Baby or Little Bitty Baby. Like the 12 Days of Christmas, it is a cumulative counting song, with each new number tied to a piece of the Christmas story. Its exact origins are uncertain, but it was widely sung within the African-American tradition and became a nationwide Christmas favorite after appearing in a 1953 folk-song collection.
