The First Noel

The First Noel is a traditional carol with roots in Cornwall in the west of England, thought to date back several centuries. It was first published in its familiar form in William Sandys' 1833 collection Christmas Carols Ancient and Modern, and its repeating melody tells the Nativity story from the shepherds' first sight of the star.

Our Love to Sing choir keeps its reverent, rolling refrain easy to follow, making it a beautiful choice for carol services, school nativities and quiet family singing at Christmas.
