While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night

While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night is a much-loved carol whose words come from Nahum Tate, the English Poet Laureate, first appearing around 1700. Over the years it has been paired with many different tunes across Britain, from the familiar Winchester Old to lively regional variants — a rare example of one carol text sung to a whole family of melodies.

Our Love to Sing choir sings it with a warm, unhurried grace that's easy to sing along, making it a lovely choice for carol services, nativity plays and quiet singing together at home.
